![]() ![]() But not having a prowess bonus would undermine the point of having inventory artifact weapon slot in the first place, as any other bonus the weapon would have wouldn't connect as much intuitively or thematically to it being a weapon. So, realistically, it doesn't really make sense that a skilled fighter gets better with a more expensive sword, just as it doesn't make much sense that it makes an amateur defeat hardened veterans - no magic swords here. It wouldn't feel like an especially notable sword if it only gave you extra prestige while equipped - at least, not notable as a sword. However, it makes intuitive sense in gameplay that a higher quality weapon functions better as a weapon than a lower quality one does - and prowess is the metric affected by that effectiveness as a weapon. Realistically? It's hard to justify the prowess bonus from inventory weapons to begin with - it's not as if the characters fight with bare fists with no inventory artifact weapons equipped, and there wouldn't be meaningful difference in the effectiveness as a weapon between the lowest and highest quality weapons the characters would reasonably wield. If not pre release of Tours then in the post release updates. I strongly urge the developers to revisit the nonsensical prowess modifiers of weapon and armor artifacts. What we have now is a "click button to get better instantly" that results in a poor RPG experience, less character playstyle diversity and therefore a more boring game. (I believe this is the better, slightly more complex solution)īoth of these solutions provide a bigger incentive to play into the strength of your character and avoid their weaknesses (role playing). ![]() This also prevents bad combat characters/kids from picking up a sword and becoming doomslayers overnight. The base prowess bonus would need to be significantly reduced for all weapons and armors to a minor bonus at the first stage (+2) going all the way up to the endgame bonuses (10+) after the user has gained experience using this weapon.Īlternatively this prowess bonus could be tied to the blademaster and/or hastiluder traits in order to make veteran and master martial artists immediately proficient when obtaining a good quality weapon. When a weapon is used in battle or duels, along with the usual stat increases it gets currently in named weapon events, it would get a prowess bonus that resets when the owner changes - representing the combat experience of the current user. For example a sword that boosts prowess by 20% will be incredible for a skilled warrior but almost useless in the hands of a novice with no experience. SOLUTION 1: Give weapon and armor artifacts percentage prowess modifiers instead of flat bonus. With how easy artifacts are obtained in the new update this should not be happening. It leads to scenarios where a veteran warrior, famed throughout the kingdom for his mastery of combat, can get overpowered with ease by a 16 year old inbred imbecile who never held a sword in his life - It's ridiculous and contributes to over the top stat bloat which makes the game boring. In the new update OPB was able to obtain a weapon like this in a single lifetime. If you pair a weapon like this with armor you can easily get over 20 prowess which is almost twice the prowess bonus you get from the Legendary Blademaster Trait (12 prowess). Artifacts should not give 50% more prowess than the Blademaster trait. ![]()
